Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
Having worked abroad helps provide valuable work experience which can help you in immigrating to Canada.
The Federal Skilled Trades Class (previously known as The Federal Skilled Trades Program) is an immigration program designed to aid skilled workers who have at least one year of work experience to obtain Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada. It is a part of the Express Entry System.
What is the Process?

Applicants must meet minimum work experience requirements

They must have taken the designated language test in English and or French and achieved the threshold language proficiency score

Applicants must express their interest to permanently immigrate to Canada

They must create an online Express Entry Profile

They must receive an Invitation to Apply through FST Program from the Canadian Government before they can apply for PR.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
General requirements:

Must not intend to live in Quebec
-
Must meet the required English or French language cut-offs: CLB 5 in Listening & Speaking, CLB 4 in Reading & Writing

Must have minimum 2 years of skilled trade work experience in NOC major group 72, 73, 82, 92, 632, and 633 in the last 5 years before applying

Work experience can be non-continuous & must be acquired after obtaining the qualification to perform such job

Have an offer (LMIA approved) of full time employment from up to two employers for at least 1 year -OR- a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial body

Have proof of funds unless has qualifying job offer

No minimum education requirements (remember that more CRS points are given for higher qualifications)
NOTE:

If work experience in Canada, must have been authorized (it does not include work without visa or while on a refugee claim)
