The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has announced a temporary pause on the intake of Alberta Opportunity Stream applications until further notice. This decision comes as part of strategic efforts to manage the program's current inventory and prioritize immigration nominations in key sectors.
What You Need to Know:
Focus on Priority Sectors: The pause aims to enable the program to address its current inventory and direct immigration nominations towards key priorities. These priorities include addressing labour shortages in sectors such as healthcare, technology, construction, agriculture, tourism, and hospitality.
Future Application Management: The AAIP will implement measures to manage future application volumes, aligning them with program priorities. This strategic approach is designed to ensure reasonable service standards across all streams.
What This Means for You:
If You've Submitted an Application: Your application will continue to be processed as usual.
If You Haven't Submitted Yet: Unfortunately, new applications, including drafts pending fee payment, will not be accepted during the pause.
