Canada’s Start-up Visa Program targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build businesses in Canada that are innovative, create jobs for Canadians, and compete on a global scale. Do you have an innovative business idea? If you can get support for your idea from one of the designated organizations, you may be able to immigrate to Canada. This is the only business program where you don't need to meet the requirements after obtaining PR

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

General requirements:​

  • Letter of Support + Commitment certificate from Canadian designated organization(s) such as Angel investor or Venture capital or Business incubator

    • Minimum financial commitment of $200,000 from Venture capital funds or $75,000 from Angel investor or acceptance into a Business incubator program

  • Must not intend to live in Quebec

  • Must meet the required English or French language cut-offs: CLB 5

  • Have proof of funds + enough for business

  • No minimum education requirements

  • People in the Business Proposal: No more than 5 essential persons can be identified

 

NOTE: Essential Staff

  • Up to 5 essential staff in total can apply for PR

  • All staff members must be identified on Letter of Support and Commitment certificate

  • All staff members must meet requirements (Language, Proof of funds, etc.)

  • If one staff is rejected, all are rejected
